Partner of The Year Announcement to Students

This is the second e-mail announcement. Definitely a lot different than the first, which I guess is the point because partners and students are completely different. I used Illustrator for everything except for the little computer which I edited in Photoshop. I really like how clean and modern this ended up.

Partner of The Year Announcement

TransAmerica Training Management was awarded Partner of the Year from Oracle University, and they asked me to come up with announcements that they could send out to their customers and partners. This is one of 3 that I am working on, I have yet to do the staff and student ones..
I'm pretty excited about the students announcement, because they want that one to be more fun and colorful.

United Way Benefit Concert Program

A couple friends asked me to do a design for their upcoming benefit concert. They told me they wanted to incorporate a peace sign, music (since it was a concert) and the slogan of United Way. I got some inspiration from a picture I saw, added more character to the peace sign, used some music and splatter brushes.
I really think that this did a great job of using all the elements they wanted, and the outfolded hands show the idea of giving back with peace and music.

Seeing stars :)

I was listening to High School Musical's "Breaking Free" and was somehow inspired to draw lots of stars.. With the help of this tutorial I was able to do so in about 15 minutes. You draw a star, change the colors, then duplicate them over and over.. Scatter them and voila!
I also added some lyrics from the song. Using the "type on a path tool."

This is embarrassing, but it's my first attempt.

Sooooo, I just got Adobe Illustrator :) and I have been trying all day to figure it out.. and I have to say, that it is pretty hard to do the switch from Photoshop to Illustrator. It was pretty frustrating, but thanks to this wonderful site that helped explain to me how to make clouds..
Hah, it seems pretty stupid, but I've got to start somewhere. I'll get better soon. I promise!

TAM Training Powerpoint Template

So I was asked to upgrade the design template for powerpoint presentations used for marketing and as a greeting in their regional offices. I included the locations of their offices, their slogan, and logo. I left enough space for them to put lots of text and information in powerpoint, and used some vector brushes to give the background a more modern feel.

Music Club T-shirt Design

This was an original design that was inspired by something I found on deviantArt. The music club was made up of members who played piano, sang, played violin, and all sorts of instruments. I wanted to make the design interesting and so it could be worn by both guys and girls. I manipulated an image of a piano, compiled some music and used splatter brushes, flowers, and music notes so I could have a nice full design that would take up most of the front of the shirt.
It was printed on a black t-shirt, and the colors along with the design looked amazing.

I am now a freelance graphic designer!

Hi everyone,

So I have finally decided to use my talent of graphic design to make some money. With college tuition bills quickly approaching, I know it is time for me to start taking some responsibility in paying for my education, and this seems like a great way to do it. I'm going to medical school, but I absolutely love doing graphic design. So might as well make money doing something that I love!

So as for my experience, back in the days of myspace, I was, I guess you would say, an owner of a myspace graphics site. I would take images of celebrities or "site models" cut them out in photoshop, and then put them on some kind of background based on what the other layout site wanted. My form of payment was "whoring" which would get me more friend requests, and more exposure. I also did some quote images, combing pictures found on flickr and random quotes.
Then I grew tired of spending hours on default pictures for actually nothing in return, because there were people like AshBo becoming millionaires for doing the same thing that I was. So I shut down my website and went to designing things for real people and getting real exposure.

I started doing logos, t-shirt designs, program covers, and website design for my high school piano program and really got good at what I was doing. I designed about 7 t-shirts for different groups in the last 2 years of high school. And now I'm currently working for a computer training company, TransAmerica Training,  doing powerpoint templates, mouse pads, marketing images, web images, and all sorts of miscellaneous images.

I really love what I do, and I'm trying to get some money out of it too. So I'm going to start by posting some of my old stuff and then after that, I'll start adding new designs. Please tell all your friends about it, and if you ever need any graphic design, come to me!

I will also post my contract, terms of service, prices, etc.. as I get more views.
